Life Skills coming to LIFE!

Jay and I have been talking for about a month or two about trying to get a cooking club off the ground and today it took off! The students decided to donate their tips (heart strings!) from the coffee shop to buy the supplies in order to generate more funds to donate. We’re collaborating with Gaby, a TA in Kindergarten, who is also a professional baker. So she helped us put a grocery list together and then off we went. We took a field trip to the grocery store in the afternoon and then each student invited a friend to cooking club after school. We made empanadas and pineapple upside-down cake. The kids loved it. And... now that we have a functional model, we’re going to offer it as an inclusive after-school activity next year.
